About Me

I am happiest sitting on a stage, with a mic in my hand, interviewing someone with a great story to tell. Somehow, I’ve managed to turn this love for the stage and a story into a career, hosting live events, podcasts, book launches, panel conversations and more. How I wish I could tell my teachers at school who were forever trying to get me to “please STOP talking” that there is money to be made and joy to be found in never shutting ones mouth.

For a bit of context, I formerly worked as a producer for the BBC and Sky News here in London, and for Tina Brown’s ‘Women in The World Summit’ in New York. After returning to the UK in 2018 I set about establishing my own media platforms, starting with a political newsletter called The Venn, followed by the female-focused creative agency, Her Hustle.

But then the pandemic hit and the best laid plans went awry. After raising pre-seed funding for the latter company and hosting our biggest event to-date, the world shut down. But there was a silver lining. During this time I started going to sex therapy, a process I found transformative for the way it changed how I saw my body, my connection to intimacy, my understanding of relationships. Why don’t we have better conversations around sex more broadly, I wondered? I resolved to change that and in 2021 I set up Sex Talks, a live event series and podcast dedicated to fostering honest conversations around pleasure, intimacy and emotional well-being.

It’s been a sell-out series since launch, showcasing just how very needed these conversations truly are. It’s also won me a Sexual Freedom Award, and led me to writing my first book Pleasure, which will be out in early 2026.

I’ve now interviewed politicians, celebrities, thought-leaders, writers, authors, therapists alike and can confirm: everyone has a great story to tell. It’s just about finding the right questions to get it out of them. And that is my the craft I will be honing for life.

  • “I went to my first Sex Talks just before Christmas - it was about the orgasm gap and it turned into an intimate sex therapy session where everyone felt liberated and comfortable to share their fears and desires.”

-Eleanor Halls, Deputy Culture Editor at The Telegraph

  • "Emma does incredible work with Sex Talks, with these much-needed conversations around sex and female pleasure. I personally like how she offers space to often under-represented voices and points of view, including female-identifying South Asian voices like mine."

-Sangeeta Pillai, Founder of Soul Sutras

  • “Sex Talks is breaking down the barriers that have surrounded female sexuality for far too long. Not only does it facilitate important and engaging discussions about pleasure, sexual autonomy and desire, but it is also dismantling years of social conditioning that has stopped women from speaking about these subjects. Sex Talks provides women with a safe space to talk, explore and be curious. It is vital.”

-Olivia Petter, Relationships writer at The Independent and author of Millennial Love

  • ”I loved being part of Emma-Louise's Sex Talks because knowing and owning female pleasure can be life-changing - and it is so important that we shine a light on the power and potential of it. We need to celebrate and champion our right to pleasure - and Emma-Louise is doing just that!”

    - Lucy Litwack, CEO of Coco De Mer
